Speedpainting Assault

A quick and rough sketch. Watch the video to see how i block out shape color and light.Notice that this is not predetermined painting. I keep painting on the shapes that i recognize and i continue building more and more. However this process can be apllied to intentional motivs too. The idea is that you know what kind of colors you want in the end and what kind of shapes. For instance a tech environment has lots of lines and solids. So the initial stock photo should have these features too. Its not always required but it helps on the way.

Speedpainting Knight

In this video tutorial i take you through my painting process. The focus is on recognizing shapes color, light and texture. The painting took under 2h and i hope it can give a good insight to my working process.I also discovered the comressor H.264, which is a Mpeg 4 layer to compressor, and a bloody good one too!

Speedpainting Lady

In this video tutorial i show you how you can quickly recognize shapes, and how to build on the painting from that step.A key issue when working with speedpainting is to start with set values, from former painting or stockphotos. Because when working with these values, it gives you a color range, take note that this doesnt tell you what the motive should be.

Speedpainting Tanks
